Blu-ray Disc is the next-generation optical disc format developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a group of consumer electronics and PC companies. Blu-ray technology was developed to enable the recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video, as well as storing large amounts of data.

The Blu-ray format offers more than five times the storage capacity of standard DVD holding up to 25GB on the single-layer disc and 50GB on the dual-layer discs. As with DVD and the CD before that, the Blu-ray disc format is based on the same physical shape, allowing the Blu-ray system drives to be able to read and write to CD and DVD media as well. The Blu-ray disc is ideal for mass data storage, digital file management and professional storage such as hospitals medical archives, city administrations and large corporations.

In today’s environment and the ongoing concerns about copyright ownership and their unlawful uses, the Blu-ray disc format incorporates the highest level of copy protection of any format available today.

• On disc printing available in single to full color offset print, a 6th color is available
• Packaging options include: bulk, paper sleeves or retail-ready Blu-ray style cases
• An Advanced Access Content System (AACS) license is required
